Reviews & Feedback

One day last summer, I was flailing the Buzzards Bay waters in vain for bonitos, albies and Spanish mac when, irritatingly, I spied another boat with fish on. Not being proud, I motored over and made the acquaintance of John and Ben Wilson, who own the only boat I know with an email address on the side - www.lonelyangler.com. They proceeded to regale me with stories of all the fish they had caught that day, but rather than keep their secret, they ended by bestowing a couple of their handmade plugs on me. They don't know this, but thanks to them I had Spanish mac for dinner that night.
Here's what lonelyangler plugs do for the fisherman. They're small, but nicely weighted. You can whip them directly into the teeth of a northwest wind. And they wriggle like a snake on the retrieve, giving the angler a surface-eye view of the strike. What do they do for the fish? They wriggle like a snake and drive them absolutely mad. With the success I had with the plugs this fall, on albies, macs, blues and bass, I humbly conclude that a fisherman without these plugs is a lonely angler indeed.

The Lonely Angler Lure Company Flying Fish Charters, Inc.

As a Boston Harbor charter boat fishing captain, I always feel the need to have my clients catch fish, and the Lonely Angler Lure does just that. Both stripers and blues seem to go wild when this fast action plug is in their territory, and they will often slap it several times before taking the bite which hooks them up. I have a large array of lures and plastics which I use, but for sheer fun, I have found the Lonely Angler to be in a class of its own. It casts easily and far, it dances on the water with little effort, and fish will follow it to the boat. I have even used it to catch false albacore and sea trout.
